I don’t log into Avination very much mainly because it is not as busy as Second Life. It’s all pretty much a grid in the pioneering stages. In fact, the LGBT community seems to have a very small presence there. I only discovered a few groups including a Gay Business Group. Second Life readers will recognize some familiar brands. Such as Akeyo – Rocky’s dance favorite in all worlds. Be sure to check out BeReal, and Noon Skins and Shapes. Other places include Inedit, SF Design and Energy. You will also be happy to know that Xcite “Real Toys for Real Fun” has a presence there as well.
I received a email message Saturday night from one of my groups in Avination. It was from Jace Eternal looking for a DJ to play Sunday at noon for his club opening. I figured it was late, but I decided to log in and at least send him a reply to let him know that I was interested. He got back to me and said I was the only one that responded. I was surprised. Apparently there are not many DJ’s in Avination. This could be an opportunity for others if interested. I did a quick Photoshop of a pic and sent him my stream info.
Club Proud is a nice open pavilion type club on the Boys Town sim. Jace Eternal has been working on it since May of this year. The look and feel has changed a few times, but then that’s always true when we build anything in a virtual world. It always seems like a work in progress. It has a great dance floor with the usual dance balls, sploders, contest and DJ Shoutcast boards. He pretty much runs the club and a huge indoor Events Pavilion also on the sim. Right now this club seems to be the only gay club in Avination.
Jonny Oh is the other business partner and he manages Boys Town Mall. He tells me that he got the idea from an actual visit to BT in Chicago. Both of them met up when they first joined Avination in back in February. This full sim is designated as “Adult” so it looks like that opens up more possibilities *grin*
The dance party was light on attendance, but I provided some great tunes and great chat. Marketing a new venue is never easy in a virtual world that does not have the numbers like SL. Figuring out how to attract more visitors is going to be a concern till things get moving and more people hear about the club.
So where will this wandering avatar venture to next? Rocky checks his map and begins planning a trip to Gay Nations.

Thank you Rocky for coming in and working your cute little tail off for us. The event was light in attendance, but there is always hope when there are incredible DJ’s like you out there. I have only been in Avination since Feb. of this year. It is a very stable grid with some huge plans. While the citizenry on the grid is still light. The virtual land is inexpensive. There are some great people in Avination and the CEO is also a DJ in world. (Just discovered that) The LGBT presence is slowly growing and it is my hope that we get a huge influx come the Fall/Winter season. I would encourage anyone that enjoys the virtual world to create their free account and check it out. Who knows you may even run into some SL folks that have homesteaded into Avination and decided to stay.
