Joining the list of surprise sim closings, comes one many people never imagined seeing in their Second Life… the closing of the very popular Gayborhood Mall Sim. Effective immediately, the sim has been vacated and all vendors and prim owners have received their prims back, according to sim manager Kharissa Indigo. She added “Dru did everything he could but he couldn’t save it in enough time…”
In a formal announcement notecard from Dru Eiren to all primowners there, he said “Its a sad day, but it looks like we’ve reached a crossroad with our time at The Gayborhood. I really wanted to say that I’d made arrangements to purchase the sim and life would go on the way it has for a long time. But unfortunately thats just not going to be this time.”
We can sense the heavy emotional attachment everyone still has for the larger-than-life build many held dear to their hearts. Exiting club owner Xade Undaman said, “It is just part of the SL things that happen.”
Any prepaid rents should be sorted and refunded by this weekend, Dru explained also. If you are one of the evacuated vendors and have any questions, please pose them to your normal person of contact who can either handle your matter or can tell you who to contact if they can’t. Meanwhile, many good available gay-owned and operated sims have open commercial space and we at GW News encourage you to use this and other inworld sites to investigate their offerings.
